About Jeff

Jeff is a seasoned executive, entrepreneur, writer, and software development expert. He’s an internet and information security guru as well as a business leader with a strong drive toward success.

Jeff possesses a diverse set of skills in various fields, including management, technology, business administration, health/fitness, martial arts, and writing. His greatest joy comes from helping people reach their dreams. He’s helped entrepreneurs grow their profits, organizations produce award-winning technological marvels, and even helped individuals grow their confidence and shrink their waistlines.

In his business career Jeff has worked with companies of all sizes, from the tiniest startups to the Fortune 50. Much of his career was spent in the internet & technology field, in roles such as CEO, department manager, technical director, program/project manager, as well as software/database architect and developer.

Today Jeff works primarily as a senior technology consultant, helping organizations effectively manage complex, distributed software and technology projects. Jeff is also leading a venture in Data Storage and Information Security for cloud platforms.

He is the Executive Director and Principal Technical Consultant for Mims Innovations, Inc., a technology consulting firm that helps organizations obtain maximum business effect from custom software projects and technology integration. The Mims Venture Group, a division of Mims Innovations, runs a large portfolio of web properties and sponsors research into data security and automation/optimization software.

Through the Surveillance Group, Jeff works as a security consultant and executive protection specialist as well as licensed private investigator, specializing in corporate technology-related investigations on an as-needed basis. He's also the Head Aikido Instructor for the Baltimore Martial Arts Academy and the founder of the Martial Arts Certification Authority (MACA) that governs the Certified Martial Artist certifications.

Jeff is the author of several books and eBooks across a variety of fields including technology, business management, internet marketing, fitness, and martial arts. He also writes fiction (mostly science-fiction and fantasy genres) under a pseudonym.

Jeff graduated from Calvert Hall College High School and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Towson University in Maryland. Over the years he has earned numerous professional certifications in the fields of technology, management, fitness/exercise, emergency medicine/rescue, and martial arts. He is a volunteer fire fighter at Providence Volunteer Fire Company in Towson, an assistant SCUBA instructor (DiveCon) with Aqua Ventures in Cockeysville, and an independent professional photographer with a studio in Baltimore. Jeff is convinced that he could be far more productive if he could figure out how to clone himself.

Jeff lives in the Baltimore area with his wife and two sons.
